Welcome to the UBC Composites Group, based in the Department of Materials Engineering and the Department of Civil Engineering. The Group conducts applied and fundamental research in many areas involving advanced composite materials and structures, including processing, impact, and fracture/damage. In all areas there is a tight coupling between modelling and experimental activities. Major research funding in the form of contracts and grants is provided by various industries and governmental agencies.

Leyla Farhang externally defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “Void Evolution and Gas Transport in Out-of-Autoclave Processing of Prepregs” on September 18, 2014.
